Emissions balance sheet
There is a direct correlation between reductions in specific energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Shown here are the total emissions caused by our production. This includes the CO2 emissions resulting from the combustion of fossil energy sources in our production sites and the emissions caused indirectly by the consumption of electrical energy. This volume of CO2 is emitted by the power plants.
Absolute CO2 emissions in '000 tonnes

The reduction in gas consumption as a primary energy source for the numerous smelting processes significantly reduced the environmental impact due to CO2 emissions.
The specific CO2 emissions, normalized on the basis of works output, clearly show the improvements achieved. Within ten years we have been able to reduce specific CO2 emissions by 60%.
