Our Semiconductor & Medical business unit provides lamps which ensure the precise lighting of small surfaces with the correct light quality.
The technologies of the Semiconductor & Medical business unit contain lamps which ensure the precise lighting or irradiating of small surfaces with the correct light source. This can mean the ultraviolet radiation (UV) of HBO lamps for microlithography, and also the "artificial daylight" of XBO lamps for endoscopy.

HBO
HBO lamps are short arc lamps in which the discharge arc fires in an atmosphere of mercury vapor under high pressure. Since HBO lamps give off a great deal of ultraviolet radiation, they are almost exclusively employed in technical-scientific applications.

HBO-IC lamps provide a high radiation output in the ultraviolet. Because of the high radiance, the generated light can be coupled very efficiently in optical systems.

HXP
HXP lamps generate UV and visible light, including significant portion of red light. Owing to the short arc and elliptical reflector they provide an efficient light coupling into light guide systems.

XBO
XBO lamps are short arc lamps in which the discharge arc fires in a pure xenon atmosphere under high pressure. XBO lamps have a very good color rendering and extremely high luminance. For this reason they are often used in light guide systems, e.g. for endoscopy or dental technology.

Our XERADEX lamps and radiance systems provide vacuum ultraviolet radiation (VUV), which are used, among other things, for surface treatment, ozone generation and the generation of purified water.
